Job Title: 1st Shift Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machinist responsible for setting up and operating various CNC machines. The role involves performing quality checks using measuring instruments such as calipers, OD ID mics, and depth mics, along with conducting first piece inspections. The ability to read and interpret blueprints and written work instructions is essential.

Responsibilities

Set up full machines, including changing jaws, tooling, and touching off tools.Select programs from the library and follow provided setup sheets for all parts.Perform setups daily, sometimes two to three times a day, accommodating short runs and small batches.Conduct in-process inspections using gauges.Maintain tolerances mostly around .002 to .005, with some bearing turns and pockets requiring .0005 tolerances.

Essential Skills

Experience with mills and lathes.Proficiency in CNC and manual machining.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

The position is based in a typical manufacturing facility, which is well-lit but not climate-controlled. The working hours are Monday to Friday, starting at 7:00 am.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
