Join a leading company in custom automation systems, operating mills and lathes in a dynamic machine shop. As a CNC Machinist, you will select and edit programs for unique, small-run parts, working from blueprints and engineered drawings. Utilizing Fanuc and Hurco controllers, with programming done in MasterCam, you will play a vital role in the production process.
ResponsibilitiesOperate CNC mills and lathes to produce unique and small-run parts.Select and edit CNC programs rather than programming from scratch.Work from blueprints and engineered drawings.Utilize Fanuc and Hurco controllers for machine operations.Perform first-offs, offsets, and tool selection.Edit programs in G code and M code.Ensure scheduled milestones are met.Essential SkillsPossess a Certificate of Qualification as a Machinist or have over 5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist operating mills and lathes.Experience with first-offs, offsets, and tool selection.Ability to edit programs in G code and M code.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables.Experience operating CNC mills, lathes, and routers.Knowledge of Fanuc and Hurco controllers.Strong oral communication skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Capability to work in a team environment and participate in group meetings safely.Why Work Here?The company offers a comprehensive benefits package including RRSP, health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as reimbursement for tuition and professional dues. Work EnvironmentThe machine shop, one of nine locations in Cambridge, houses about 50 machinists and produces most parts used for final assembly. It is a collaborative and innovative environment equipped with advanced machinery and technology.
