**Job Title: Machinist**
**Job Description**
As a machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC turning and milling machines, including mills and lathes. Your work will primarily involve Mori Siekis and Doosans machines. You will use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and pin gauges to check parts, and you will need to read and interpret blueprints daily. The role requires performing 1-3 setups per day, selecting the appropriate tooling and fixtures, and utilizing G and M codes.
**Responsibilities**
+ Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machining work.
+ Set up, adjust, and operate basic and advanced machine tools for precision machining operations.
+ Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
+ Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and precision instruments.
+ Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes and milling machines.
+ Measure, examine, and test completed units for defects and conformance to specifications.
+ Monitor machine feed and speed during the machining process.
+ Study sample parts, blueprints, and engineering information to determine fabrication methods and sequences.
+ Diagnose machine malfunctions and determine the need for adjustments or repairs.
+ Ensure workpieces are properly lubricated and cooled.
+ Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
+ Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment.
+ Advise clients on materials used for finished products.
+ Confer with engineering and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
+ Collaborate with Engineering and cutting tool suppliers to improve tool life.
+ Design and create basic fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts for special engineering needs.
**Essential Skills**
+ 2+ years of machining and/or CNC setup experience.
+ Basic blueprint reading skills.
+ Ability to identify potential problems.
+ Operate one or more CNC machines while maintaining quality and safety requirements.
+ Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 30 pounds.
+ Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for 8 hours or more.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with GD&T, troubleshooting, and changeovers.
+ Knowledge of Solidworks and CAD/CAM software.
+ Experience working in a cell-based work area.

**Work Environment**
Work in a large company with multiple buildings, though you will be assigned to one building. The area is set up in cells, allowing you to work on more than one machine at a time. The dress code includes jeans and a work shirt.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $51500.00 - $61672.00/yr.
