JOB SUMMARY:
Under moderate supervision, CNC Machinist I sets up and operates a range of automatic or semiautomatic machines. Reports malfunctions in equipment and makes minor adjustments and repairs.

Essential Functions:
* Operates 5-axis gantry machines
* Verifies necessary lubricants are at proper level
* Verifies work order documentation
* Gathers necessary tooling, fixtures, and materials needed for job per traveler requirements
* Continuously monitors equipment to ensure safe operation and production of quality parts
* Adjusts machines according to dimensional non-conformity
* Deburr parts while machine is operating
* Check parts and record measurements using micrometers and calipers
* Understands and read production drawings, product requirements on the traveler, and know where critical characteristics are
* Reports any machine malfunctions or safety hazards
* Other responsibilities as assigned
* Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
* All other duties as assigned.

* Cooperates fully in all risk management activities and investigations.
* Reports promptly any suspected or potential violations to laws, regulations, procedures, policies and practices, and cooperates in related investigation.

* Demonstrate knowledge of all applicable compliance and legal requirements of the job based on the scope of practice of the position.
* Safety Requirements:
* Is knowledgeable of, observes and complies with Codes of Safe Practice, safety policies and emergency procedures.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
Education:
* Requires a High School Diploma/GED or appropriate certifications may be
* substituted to meet educational requirements only.
Experience:
* Requires one (1) year of relevant experience and vocational training, apprenticeships, or equivalent experience in a related field.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
* Experience in semi-repetitive specialized machine operations
* Strong experience in machining tools
* Ability to use hand tools and machinery
* Ability to operate Fanuc Controls
* Ability to work closely with others in a team-oriented work environment
* Able to follow instructions, sketches, blueprints, engineering drawings and manuals
* Capable of problem-solving: Exercises judgment, based on previous experience, practices and precedents, to identify and solve problems that arise.
* Effective oral and written communication
