Cnc Machinist
**CNC Machinist** We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate a variety of CNC machine tools—including DMG Mori, Haas, and Okuma—to perform turning, drilling, milling, tapping, and resistance spot‑welding operations on precision components in a work‑cell environment. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, supporting team members, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. **Key Responsibilities** + Set up and operate CNC machines using process sheets, blueprints, setup sheets, setup cards, and written or verbal instructions + Machine, install, or re‑cut chuck jaws as needed + Insert and secure tooling in machine turrets and use hand tools or manual machines when required + Download, upload, and adjust CNC programs; make offset changes to maintain tight tolerances + Perform advanced troubleshooting and corrective adjustments to ensure optimal machine performance + Train and support less‑experienced machinists; act as Team Leader when needed + Set up and verify preset gauges for proper calibration + Inspect own work and the work of others to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with quality standards + Operate multiple machines concurrently when required + Collaborate with supervisors, programmers, and support teams to resolve production issues + Assist new product development teams with design‑for‑manufacturability considerations + Rotate through various work centers as needed and complete all required documentation + Enter production data into the ERP system + Support continuous improvement and RBS activities + Load and unload parts up to 25 lbs while maintaining a clean and safe work environment **Job Requirements** + Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience + Ability to read blueprints and set up machines to exact specifications **Skills & Competencies** + CNC setup and operation (lathe and mill) + Blueprint reading and G/M‑code understanding + Precision measurement using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and comparators + Experience with Haas, Fanuc, Mastercam, and general CNC programming + Strong troubleshooting, tooling, and machining knowledge + Ability to maintain tight tolerances and high‑quality output **Preferred Qualifications** + High school diploma or trade school certification + Experience in a machine‑shop or manufacturing environment **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Downers Grove, IL. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
