The CNC Machinist will be responsible for operating a 9-axis Okuma CNC machine on a schedule from 2:50 PM to 1:20 AM, Monday through Thursday. Initial training will occur on the first shift for a period of three months. The role requires proficiency in reading pre-set programs, with the ability to make edits being advantageous. All tooling and gauging will be in metric measurements.
ResponsibilitiesOperate and maintain a 9-axis Okuma CNC machine, ensuring smooth functionality.Read, interpret, and understand technical drawings, dimensions, and requirements.Setup, monitor, and change necessary tools based on setup sheets and program requirements.Align and secure fixturing and accessories according to setup sheet and job requirements.Setup and verify reliable operation of automation equipment, including selecting robot programs and setting up inspection sequences.Load machine programs, adjust CNC data, and input necessary commands for machine operation.Conduct trial runs to verify accuracy of machine settings and programmed control data for new or updated programs.Inspect parts during production using inspection sheets and precision gauging to ensure compliance with quality standards, making machine adjustments to optimize output.Maintain organized tools, gauges, and accessories in designated areas.Support the supply of raw materials as needed for upcoming production needs.Communicate with supervisors or programmers about adjustments in work sequences or nonconforming dimensions if necessary.Maintain a clean and organized work area, perform routine maintenance on the machine and workspace, and communicate repair needs.Essential SkillsProficiency in operating CNC machines, specifically 9-axis Okuma.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.Experience in setting up and adjusting CNC machinery.Familiarity with metric measurements for tooling and gauging.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in making edits to existing CNC programs.Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.Why Work Here?Join a supportive and innovative work environment that values precision and efficiency.
