CNC Machinist
**Job Title: Vertical CNC Operator** Job Description Join a dynamic team as a Vertical CNC Operator responsible for operating state-of-the-art machinery to produce high-performance thermoplastic materials. This position is crucial in ensuring efficient production processes and maintaining a safe workplace, contributing to the realization of KAITEKI values. Responsibilities + Utilize ERP software for time logging and data collection. + Interpret work orders, flow sheets, and part drawings for manufacturing details. + Conduct manual inspections to verify blueprint dimensions. + Load, verify, and create basic tools and fixtures. + Retrieve materials from staging area and verify accuracy with work order. + Set up and operate 3 axis mills and basic 2 axis lathe work. + Adhere to safety and quality system requirements. + Upload and download programs from programmers to machines. + Indicate vice straight and pick up center of fixtures. + Submit first article and final inspection to Quality Assurance. + Perform in-process inspections during production runs. + Maintain cleanliness of work area and machinery, practicing 5S principles. + Perform daily and monthly machine preventative maintenance. + Communicate effectively to ensure successful completion of production tasks. + Fulfill additional duties as directed. + Ensure safety protocols are followed in this sensitive role. Essential Skills + High School Diploma or equivalent. + Basic knowledge of ERP software. + 3-5 years of experience or CNC certification plus 1-2 years of experience in CNC machining. + Proficiency in blueprint reading and using manual inspection gauges. + Ability to edit and write CNC programs. + Basic math skills with preferred trigonometry knowledge. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods. + Understanding of GD&T principles. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is centered around maintaining a clean and orderly production area, operating during second shift hours from Monday to Friday, 4pm-12:30am. Dress code includes safety attire with provided vouchers for steel toe shoes. The facility prioritizes safety and efficiency, using advanced CNC machinery and supporting technologies. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Libertyville, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
