We are seeking a skilled Machinist to set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines, including mills and lathes, predominantly working on Mori Siekis and Doosans. The successful candidate will utilize precision measuring tools, such as micrometers, calipers, and pin gauges, to check parts and will use blueprints daily. The role involves performing 1-3 setups per day and requires the ability to determine appropriate tooling and fixtures.
ResponsibilitiesSelect appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machinery work.Set up, adjust, and operate basic and advanced machine tools for precision machining operations.Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and precision instruments.Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes and milling machines.Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.Study blueprints and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations.Diagnose machine malfunctions and determine the need for adjustments or repairs.Check workpieces to ensure proper lubrication and cooling.Position and fasten workpieces.Verify operational efficiency of equipment.Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment.Advise on materials used for finished products.Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.Work with engineering or tool suppliers to improve tool life.Design and create basic fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts for special engineering needs.
Essential Skills3+ years of machining or CNC setup experience.Basic blueprint reading.Ability to identify potential problems without solving them.Operate one or more CNC machines daily while maintaining quality and safety standards.Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 30 pounds.Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for 8 hours or more.
Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with GD&T, troubleshooting, and changeovers.Familiarity with SolidWorks, CAD/CAM, and machining equipment.

Work Environment
The work area is organized into cells, allowing you to work on more than one machine at a time in a large company with multiple buildings. You will be stationed in one building. The dress code is casual, with jeans and a work shirt.
