Cnc Machinist
**Job Title: CNC Machinist** Job Description As a CNC Machinist specializing in mills, you will be responsible for machining large stamping die components. You will set up the mill, download and edit programs using G&M codes, and run short-run parts. This role involves working with various CNC machines, including OKK with Fanuc controls and Tarus with Heidenhein controls. Responsibilities + Set up and operate CNC milling machines to machine large stamping die components. + Download programs and make precise edits to G&M codes on-site. + Perform tool changes and ensure proper setup of tools. + Read and interpret blueprints accurately. + Handle prototype, short-run, and tool & die operations. + Maintain ownership of the die throughout the process from scratch to final customer buy-off. + Ensure high-quality production of Class A surfaces and blanking dies. Essential Skills + Proficiency in operating CNC milling machines. + Experience with Fanuc and Heidenhein controls. + Ability to set up tools and perform tool changes. + Expertise in reading blueprints. + Competency in editing G&M codes and performing custom block edits. + Understanding of machine planes and drill cycles. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with Tarus 5 Axis machining is beneficial. + Familiarity with tools such as micrometers (0-3), calipers, gages, and indicators. + Ability to lift heavy components with crane assistance. The company has been operational for over four decades, with GM as a significant customer. You will work 40-45 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays. There are openings for both the 1st shift (6:30 am - 2:30 pm) and the 2nd shift (2:30 pm - 11 pm). Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of livonia, Michigan. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
