**Job Title: CNC Machinist** Job Description We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our precision department. You will be responsible for setting up jobs and running parts on a CNC swiss lathe, ensuring the highest quality standards are met. Responsibilities + Set up CNC swiss lathes for job orders. + Operate and run parts on assigned CNC machines. + Ensure quality control using micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and bore gages. + Manage 2-3 machines within a cell of 7 CNC lathes, maintaining a tolerance of +/- .0005. + Handle long production runs ranging from 200 to thousands of parts. + Collaborate with the 1st shift lead to receive daily job orders. Essential Skills + Proficiency in setting up CNC lathe independently, specifically with swiss lathes. + Ability to read blueprints and set up jobs accordingly. + Experience in quality checking parts using micrometers, calipers, and bore gages. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with CNC Swiss lathe is a plus. + Familiarity with troubleshooting, mechanical changeovers, and programming. + Knowledge of CAD/CAM software. Work Environment The shop operates on two shifts: 1st shift from 6am to 4:30pm and 2nd shift from 7:30pm to 6am, with 10-hour shifts over four days per week. Fridays are reserved for overtime. The facility features two sides: precision and production, and although it can be loud and warm during the summer, large fans and open truck bay doors help to maintain airflow. The shop has a family-owned and operated atmosphere, aiming for a smaller company feel amidst a bustling three-shift operation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Benton Harbor, Michigan. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
