Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Description

As a CNC Machinist, you will work from production schedules, material issue tickets, prints, setup diagrams, and parts program lists. You will be responsible for ensuring the precise and efficient operation of CNC machinery, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

Review production schedules and pull prints and count sheets for jobs to be run.Follow all general and machine-specific work instructions, including startup, complex setups, preventive maintenance, operation, shutdown, and lockout tag-out procedures.Check setup sheets for positioning of fixtures on the machine bed and verify material for proper straightness and length.Load, edit, and verify parts program lists, ensuring correct program numbers.Install and adjust tools, set tool length, speed, and feed, and verify program dimensions against prints.Conduct test runs, spot drill, check dimensions, and submit the first piece for approval.Monitor operations, adjust feed and speed, replace tools as necessary, and maintain machine oil levels.Adjust programs based on varying material lengths and maintain production records.Perform SPC and quality check procedures, unload parts, and transfer holes using a pneumatic hand drill.Conduct necessary calibration checks for tape measures, squares, calipers, and other gauges.Use a lift truck, pneumatic hand hoist, manual drill and grinder, tape measure, digital caliper, and other hand tools.Prepare required operation reports.

Essential Skills

At least 2 years of experience as a CNC Machinist.Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and reading blueprints.Experience with tool changes and adjustments.Ability to work in a hot and tough environment.

Work Environment

You will work in a large facility with multiple buildings, focused on heat treating and shaping steel. The environment can be hot due to furnaces and heavy CNC machinery, but big garage doors help cool the place down, and free Gatorade is provided. Shifts are available with plenty of overtime opportunities: 1st shift from 8am-4pm, 2nd shift from 4pm-12am, and 3rd shift from 12am-8am.

This position isbased out of Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
