CNC Machinist
Job Title: CNC MachinistJob Description

Manufacture detailed parts and tools from blueprints, sketches, drawings, or verbal instructions using various computer- or mechanically controlled machine tools and equipment. Set up and operate mills, lathes, computer-controlled equipment (CNC) machine tools, grinders, and other machine equipment using mathematical and geometrical calculations. Use precision measuring instruments to check and maintain tolerances, calculate dimensions, and ensure surfaces of parts conform to specifications. Assist in design, development, and evaluation of new products and recommend improvements or modifications.

ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and maintain CNC milling and turning centers according to complex blueprints and specifications.Retrieve job-related information such as job routings, part drawings, tool lists, and work instructions.Select and utilize appropriate cutting tools and work holding for various materials and machining processes.Document manufactured quantities and all required processes utilizing ERP system.Perform precise measurements and inspections to ensure parts meet stringent quality control standards.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize machining efficiency.Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.Assist with developing new machining methods and tooling for complex parts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications3-4 years of relevant experienceHigh school degree or equivalent, plus advanced trainingExcellent attention to detailWorking knowledge of customer specifications and requirementsBasic computer skillsProblem-solving abilitiesAbility to use calipers, micrometers, etc.Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)Strong teamwork and communication skillsUnderstanding of and adherence to safety requirementsCommitment to maintaining a clean work area

Work Environment

Work in a very large and clean machine shop environment with a shift time of 4:30 pm - 2:45 am, Monday through Thursday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Plains, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
