CNC Machinist
**Job Title: Machinist** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Machinist to set up, operate, and changeover Bridgeport style mills, lathes, grinders, and more with minimal supervision. You will work with Mazaks, Ocuma, and Fanuc equipment, primarily handling 5-axis machines and occasionally 3-axis machines. You will study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. The role involves utilizing detailed setup sheets for the entire machining process. **Responsibilities** + Set up, operate, and changeover various machining equipment with minimal supervision. + Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances. + Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut. + Select, align, and secure work-holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines. + Observe machine operation during setup to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as needed. + Perform part inspections by verifying conformance of finished products to specifications using measuring and inspection tools. + Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines as per protocol. **Essential Skills** + 4 years' experience setting up and operating manual and CNC machines. + Experience performing full process machining. + Proficiency in Fanuc controls is preferred. + High School diploma or GED required. + Ability to utilize math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, Cartesian coordinate system, and geometry. + Ability to effectively use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gages, height gage, comparator, and dial indicator. + Skill in reading and interpreting documents such as work orders, drawings, manuals, setup instructions, and safety regulations. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Strong ability to work in a team-focused environment. + Must be able to read and comprehend instructions and possess good oral communication skills. + Must be able to train during the day for a few weeks. **Why Work Here?** Employees enjoy the potential to transition into a union with 11 paid holidays annually and a generous vacation policy that increases with tenure. Work shifts include 1st (Monday to Friday, 6am-2:30pm), 2nd (2pm-10:30pm with a 10% premium), 3rd (Monday to Thursday, 10pm-8:30am with a 15% premium), and a skeleton weekend crew (Friday to Sunday, 6am-6:30pm with a 25% premium). We are primarily seeking candidates for the 2nd shift at this time. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $37.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
