**Job Title: Machinist**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to set up and operate CNC machining centers, as well as manual lathe and milling centers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for adjusting tool and fixture offsets to achieve documented material tolerances. You will read and interpret work instructions and product/component drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances necessary for producing production parts. This role requires the ability to use precision measuring equipment to check parts in accordance with engineering-released documents, and to maintain a clean and serviced work area.
**Responsibilities**
+ Set up and operate CNC machining centers and manual lathe and milling centers.
+ Adjust tool and fixture offsets to achieve documented material tolerances.
+ Read and interpret work instructions and product/component drawings.
+ Follow work order instructions and accurately record task times.
+ Use precision measuring equipment to check parts in accordance with engineering documents.
+ Maintain a clean and regularly serviced work area.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**Essential Skills**
+ 5 – 10 years machining experience in moderate to high volume production environments.
+ 2 - 5 years programming experience preferred; experience with MasterCam is a plus.
+ Experience in setting up, operating, and adjusting both manual and CNC lathe machining.
+ Proficiency in inspecting parts using micrometers, gage pins, tread gages, digital/analog indicators, surface plates, calipers, and other tools.
+ Ability to read and comprehend production Bill of Materials and production orders.
+ Ability to use production drawings and instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
+ Strong verbal communication skills.

**Work Environment**
The work environment includes available shifts of 1st (6AM-2:30PM), 2nd (2PM-10:30PM), and 3rd (10:30PM-7AM). This role requires the use of CNC and manual machining equipment, and precision measuring tools. The dress code is standard for a manufacturing setting, ensuring safety and comfort.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Leandro, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr.
