**Job Title: Vertical Lathe CNC Operator**
**Job Description**
As a Vertical Lathe CNC Operator, you will play a crucial role in our production process, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our CNC machinery during the 2nd shift. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly production area while contributing to a positive and sustainable work environment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Use data collection in ERP software to log time.
+ Read work orders, flow sheets, and part drawings to determine all job requirements.
+ Check blueprint dimensions using manual inspection equipment.
+ Load and verify tools and fixtures, and make basic fixtures.
+ Pull and verify materials from the staging area for specific jobs.
+ Proficiently set up 3-axis mills and basic 2-axis lathe work.
+ Abide by and support all safety and quality system requirements.
+ Upload and download programs to machines from programmer.
+ Indicate vice straight and pick up the center of a fixture.
+ Submit first article and final inspections to Quality Assurance.
+ Run all parts required for the order and perform in-process inspections.
+ Maintain cleanliness of work area and machine, practicing 5S principles.
+ Perform daily and monthly machine preventative maintenance.
+ Communicate effectively to ensure successful job completion.
+ Complete any other duties as directed.
**Essential Skills**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Basic knowledge of ERP software.
+ 3-5 years of experience or CNC certification plus 1-2 years of experience in CNC Machining.
+ Proficiency in blueprint reading and using manual inspection gauges.
+ Experience in editing and writing programs.
+ Basic math skills with preferred trigonometry knowledge.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
+ May be required to stand for long periods.

**Work Environment**
The position is a safety-sensitive role requiring adherence to strict safety protocols. You will work in a manufacturing environment operating advanced CNC machinery. The role involves standing for extended periods and may require lifting up to 50 pounds. The dress code includes wearing steel-toe boots, for which a voucher is provided.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Libertyville, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
