**Job Title: Machinist**
**Job Description**
As a machinist, you will be responsible for maintaining production tools, both perishable and non-perishable, using manual lathe, mill, grinder, CNC mill and lathe to produce repair parts for tooling or machines. You will perform additional duties as required to support production.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, and milling, including manual mills, lathes, or grinders.
+ Understand specifications of tasks and desired outcomes by reading blueprints and mechanical drawings.
+ Maintain documents and communication with the job lead or supervisor as required.
+ Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto machines.
+ Conduct test runs to check machine outputs against specifications.
+ Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large numbers of parts.
+ Supervise machines during tasks and make necessary adjustments for improved results.
+ Assist the Maintenance and Tooling department as needed.
+ Maintain and execute housekeeping duties.
+ Maintain tools and equipment.
+ Complete task and reporting documentation and distribute accordingly.
+ Complete work orders or projects.
+ Manage special projects as assigned.
+ Recommend and implement improvements for tooling and equipment.
+ Follow corporate policies and procedures, including Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards set by state/federal law and external certification bodies.
+ Perform all other duties as assigned.
**Essential Skills**
+ 5 years of CNC Mill setup and operation experience.
+ Ability to read blueprints.
+ Proficiency in using G&M codes to edit programs at the machine for tool changes, offsets, and machine setups.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with Haas workstation programming.
+ Tool room manual machining experience with mills, lathes, and surface grinders.
+ Tool room machinist tools used for production.

**Work Environment**
You will work in a fast-paced yet clean environment manufacturing metal exhaust systems for automotive manufacturers. The site includes automated tube benders, welder machines, ABB and material handling robots, conveyors, and Allen Bradley/Siemens/Beckhoff PLC troubleshooting. Be prepared for consistent loud noises from machinery in certain areas. Compliance with PPE and safety requirements is mandatory, including wearing steel-toe shoes at all times in the plant. Safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection will be provided.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, Michigan.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
