Job Description
We are seeking a skilled machinist responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines, including mills and lathes, in the aerospace industry. The role requires precision in machining parts, meticulous documentation, and adaptability to varying daily tasks. As an apprentice, you will receive training to become a journeyman machinist, with a focus on quality inspection using specialized measuring equipment.
ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC machines, including mills and lathes.Use measuring equipment to ensure precision in parts.Complete setups, offsets, tooling changes, and changeovers.Perform tool changes and setup directly at the machine.Conduct quality inspections on machined parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.Maintain strong documentation practices in aerospace machining.Essential SkillsAt least 4 years of CNC machining experience.Proficiency in setups, tooling changes, and changeover procedures.Understanding of machine G&M codes.Ability to read blueprints.Experience using micrometers, calipers, and gauges for quality inspection.High school diploma or GED.Additional Skills & QualificationsAerospace or job shop experience is a plus.Programming experience is advantageous.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The work environment includes both day and night shifts with specific hours and overtime rates. Day Shift operates from 6 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, requiring 50 hours per week, with paid straight time for hours 0-8 and overtime for hours 9-10. Night Shift runs from 4 PM to 3:30 AM, Monday to Friday, with a 55-hour work week, offering straight time for hours 0-8, overtime for hours 9-10, and double time for hour 11 each day. The facility offers a job shop type environment with innovative technologies and robotics.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SOLON, Ohio.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
