**TRAVEL CNC Machinist and Programmer**
**$35-40HR AND 140/PER DIEM ALL 7 DAYS**
**Job Description**
The CNC Machinist will be responsible for full cycle machining work in a job shop environment, primarily supporting complex government and military-related projects. This role involves receiving blueprints and work orders, selecting tooling, programming, setting up CNC lathes and mills, running full cycles, and inspecting parts to ensure they meet customer specifications.
**Responsibilities**
+ Receive and interpret blueprints and work orders to determine machining requirements.
+ Select appropriate tooling and program CNC lathes and mills using Mazatrol and Fanuc.
+ Setup CNC machines and run full machining cycles.
+ Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet tight tolerance and quality standards.
+ Engage in problem-solving to address machining challenges.
**Essential Skills**
+ 5+ years of full cycle CNC machining experience in a job shop environment.
+ Proficiency in CNC programming and setup, particularly with Mazak machines.
+ Experience with CNC lathe and mill operations.
+ Strong understanding of Mazatrol programming and C-axis programming with live-tooling.
+ Hands-on experience with GD&T and blueprint reading.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Familiarity with CAD/CAM software like Mastercam is a plus.
+ Proficient in gaging and metrology practices.
+ Strong self-learning ability and problem-solving skills.

**Work Environment**
Work in a well-kept machine shop environment with a mix of CNC mills and lathes. The shop is not climate-controlled, but it is comfortable and organized. The dress code requires steel toe or composite toe shoes/boots, safety glasses, clean work pants or jeans, and prohibits tank tops and jewelry.
**PER DIEM OF 140/DAY FOR ALL 7 DAYS.**
**2 SHIFTS AVAILABLE**
**2ND = 4PM - 2AM MON - THURS**
**4TH = 6AM - 6PM FRIDAY - SUNDAY (overtime pick up during the week)**

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Houston, Texas.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
