**Job Title: Production Machinist**
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and mechanically inclined individual to join our team as a Production Machinist. This role offers the opportunity to become proficient in operating a 4-axis horizontal mill, assisting in the machining of large metal parts for production. Our process-driven shop produces approximately 1,200 parts a month, and we are looking for someone eager to pursue a career in machining.
Responsibilities
+ Operate and assist in the machining of large metal parts using a 4-axis horizontal mill.
+ Change inserts, clean, and maintain the work area around the machine.
+ Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate machining.
+ Utilize hand and measurement tools, such as calipers and micrometers, for precision measurement.
+ Perform production run set-ups, tooling, and fixturing.
+ Operate grinders and bandsaws, adjusting machine settings as required.
+ Ensure the quality of the cut stock by verifying dimensions against specifications.
+ Maintain a proactive approach to workstation preparation and cleanup.
Essential Skills
+ 1-3 years of machining experience.
+ Proficiency with hand tools, calipers, and micrometers.
+ Mechanical aptitude and critical thinking skills.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
+ Basic math comprehension, including the ability to identify measurements down to thousandths.
+ Comfort and eagerness to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
+ Ability to lift 50-75 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience running 24" and 36" grinders.
+ Experience with production run set-ups and use of tooling, fixturing, and safety procedures for grinders.
+ Comfortable with adjusting machine settings and positioning jigs or attachments on machine beds.

Work Environment
Work in an open industrial machine shop with open bay doors, located approximately 0.5 miles from headquarters in Wilsonville, OR. The environment is dynamic and supportive, focusing on process-driven production.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, Oregon.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
