Lathe Machinist - Up to $32/hr to start - First Shift Direct Hire in Hanover, PA First Shift - 6am-3pm Mon-Fri Manpower is assisting a well-known machine manufacturer whose products are distributed in over 60 countries in filling a Lathe Machinist. • Produces quality parts on CNC lathes. • Loads parts, proves programs, operates controls, sets offsets, performs simple edits, deburrs and inspects quality of parts for conformance to requirements. • Studies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and set-up requirements. • Measures and marks dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as a guide for subsequent machining. • Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine, within capabilities, controls or control media as required to ensure quality of production. Reports all machine malfunctions to immediate supervisor. • Communicates with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality and other shop employees for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues. • Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly and performs basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment. • Adheres to and complies with state and federal law, Company policies and safety and environmental regulations within the scope of the job requirements. • Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials. • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media. • Verifies dimensions of machined workpiece with such measuring instrument as micrometers, telescoping gauges, vernier calipers, and dial indicators.
