We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our 2nd shift team. You will be responsible for operating a Twin Spindle Twin Turret Lathe to manufacture firefighting equipment, including handline nozzles, apparatus valves/fittings, industrial valves, adapters, caps, plugs, and more.
ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC Lathe machining centers.Spend approximately 30% of your time performing setups and change outs, and 70% monitoring machines, inspecting completed parts, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.Perform 1 to 3 setups per shift, with runs ranging from 20 to 200 parts.Operate Okuma-Howa Lathes, including Bar Feeder Lathes, Single and Multiple Turret Lathes, Index Lathes, and Custom-Thread Lathes.Run two machines simultaneously, considering typical run time durations.Utilize micrometers and calipers to ensure parts meet specifications.Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, and fixtures using hand tools and precision measurement tools.Read, understand, and edit programs for Bar Feeders.Perform preventative maintenance on CNC lathes according to the work schedule.Maintain a tolerance of +/- .005.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years' experience in setup, change outs, offsets, and operation of CNC Lathe machinery.Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, including those with up to 100 dimensions.Proficient in using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.Experience with tight tolerances up to +/- .005.Understanding of G & M codes for tooling changes, 5-position disc, and making offset adjustments.Ability to lift 50 pounds.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Swiss Lathe operations.Familiarity with Single Spindle Twin Turret Lathes and indexing.Experience in G & M programming and editing.Background in job shop environments.Why Work Here?We offer comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance. Work EnvironmentThe work environment includes older equipment that is gradually being upgraded. The facility is attached to a foundry, resulting in an oily and dirty atmosphere. The 2nd shift operates from 2:55 pm to 10:55 pm, with a $2.50/hr shift premium.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.96 - $28.46/hr.
