**Job Title: Lathe Machinist** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist to join our team. This role involves setting up and operating Makino and Mazak machines, with the number of set-ups ranging from one to three per day, depending on production length. We require candidates with over seven years of experience in reading blueprints, performing tool changes and offsets, and utilizing precision measuring equipment. **Responsibilities** + Set up and operate CNC machinery, including Makino and Mazak lathes. + Read and interpret blueprints to determine machine set-ups. + Perform tool changes and offsets as required. + Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools with tight tolerances of +/- 0.5. + Perform preventative maintenance on machinery. **Essential Skills** + 7+ years of experience in CNC lathe and mill operations. + Proficiency in reading blueprints. + Experience with precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers. + Ability to perform tool changes and fixture adjustments. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + OP1 Tier: 1-3 years of CNC lathe or mill operating experience. + 1 year of experience in changing tooling and fixtures. + OP2 Tier: 3+ years of CNC lathe or mill operating experience. + Set OP1 Tier: 1-3 years of CNC lathe or mill setup and operating experience. + Set OP2 Tier: 5+ years of CNC lathe setup experience. **Why Work Here?** Our company offers comprehensive benefits, including full coverage of medical and dental premiums, life insurance, and disability policies. The shop operates on 10-hour shifts, with first shift running from 5 AM to 3:30 PM and second shift from 3:30 PM to 2 AM. Optional overtime is available on Fridays. The shop is clean, well-organized, and staffed by approximately 50 employees.
