Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist | $23-25 HR | 2nd Shift | Can Start ASAP

Job Description

As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you will play a crucial role in adhering to production schedules by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, material specifications, and machining parameters. You will effectively operate CNC machines, interpret complex geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T), and ensure the precision and quality of parts by performing setup, programming, and troubleshooting tasks.

ResponsibilitiesAdhere to production schedules by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, material specifications, locations, and machining parameters, and interpret complex geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).Operate CNC machines by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches, and using G-code and/or conversational programming as needed.Set up CNC machines by programming, editing, installing, and adjusting tools, attachments, collets, bushings, stops, and indicating parts with minimal to no assistance.Load raw material safely and verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample work pieces.Ensure part specifications by observing drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, and facing operations, and take corrective measures by adjusting and editing programs and replacing worn tools.Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, troubleshooting malfunctions, and reporting issues for timely repairs.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with P-code and twin turret lathe is a plus.Familiarity with measuring tools like calipers and micrometers.Knowledge of machine setup and tooling changes.Proficiency in CNC machining and setup with at least 3+ years of experience.Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.Skill in editing programs and using G&M codes.High school diploma or GED.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to natural and artificial light, ambient and controlled temperatures, and light to moderate amounts of airborne graphite dust. Moderate noise levels are present. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required. Must be able to stand for long periods, bend, reach, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently is necessary. Effective communication skills in English are required, both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in using a personal computer is essential, and specific vision abilities, including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus, are necessary.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
