Job Description
As a CNC Grinder, you will play a crucial role in operating and managing various CNC machines, primarily focusing on grinding machines. You will also have the opportunity to learn and work with mills and lathes. Your responsibilities will include preparing materials and feeding them through the machines while monitoring operations to ensure optimal performance. If issues arise, you will communicate with team leads to resolve them. Additionally, you will work towards mastering changeovers and setups alongside the team for long-term success.
ResponsibilitiesOperate machinery such as CNC Mill, Lathe, or other specified equipment under supervision.Perform machine setups, including cleaning, calibration, and adjustments to start production cycles.Feed raw materials into machines and monitor machine operations during production to ensure optimal performance.Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with quality standards.Conduct periodic tests of machine operations and troubleshoot issues that may arise during shifts.Record production output, including approved units and any defects or flaws identified.Assist with preventative maintenance tasks and ensure cleanliness of the work area.Adhere to all safety guidelines, company rules, policies, and procedures without exception.Apply Lean Manufacturing principles and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.Essential Skills6 months + of machine operating experience (or schooling).Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move for 8 hours per day.Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills.General production knowledge.Proficiency with precision tools such as micrometers and calipers.Experience with inspection processes.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent.Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably as a machine operator.Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to follow instructions in English.Intermediate attention to detail and understanding of Quality Control Principles.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks during assigned shifts.Self-motivated, focused, and results-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is desirable.CNC Experience.Metals Experience.CNC Schooling.Why Work Here?

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.30 - $25.30/hr.
