CNC Bridgeport Machinist
Job Title: CNC Bridgeport Machinist

Job Description

The role involves non-production work focused on short-run and prototype machining, akin to a job shop environment. The machinist is expected to assist in general clean-up and support various tasks within the shop. Additionally, the machinist is responsible for checking the quality of the parts they produce.

ResponsibilitiesProgram and machine from start to finish, with a balanced focus of 50% programming and 50% machining.Read and interpret blueprints for setup, programming, and operation of CNC machines.Operate Bridgeport mills equipped with Accurite controllers.Utilize additional machining skills such as lathe operations and ID/OD grinding, which are highly beneficial.Participate actively in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the shop.Essential Skills5+ years of experience running Bridgeport CNC machines.Proficiency in programming from scratch using Accurite or similar controllers.Competency in reading blueprints.Capability to set up, perform tool changes, and manage offsets; effectively running the machine from start to finish.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with workNC software or Mastercam.Background in other CNC operations such as mills, lathes, and ID/OD grinders.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is a small shop with a total of 10 employees. The dress code requires work pants, non-loose fitting shirts, and work shoes, with no jewelry allowed. Note that there is no air conditioning in the facility. The position is on the first shift, running from 6AM to 5PM Monday through Friday, with a mandatory half-hour unpaid lunch, and 6AM to 12PM on Saturdays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clinton Township, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
