Job Title: CMM Programmer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CMM Programmer to create, optimize, and validate CMM programs for machined components. This role involves advancing programmable inspection capabilities and reducing reliance on functional gaging through innovative inspection methods. The programmer will interpret blueprints with GD&T to develop inspection methods aligned with engineering requirements and review ECOs to update CMM programs accordingly.
Responsibilities
Create, optimize, and validate CMM programs for machined components.Advance programmable inspection capabilities to reduce reliance on functional gaging.Interpret blueprints with GD&T and develop inspection methods aligned with engineering requirements.Review ECOs and update CMM programs as necessary.Perform part inspections, analyze measurement output, and support material disposition decisions.Develop inspection plans, acceptance criteria, and support corrective action closures and quality system improvements.Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality teams.Participate in on-site technical skills testing that evaluates programming logic and GD&T understanding.Essential Skills
Strong CMM programming ability using MCOSMOS (preferred) or PC DMIS.Proficiency in interpreting blueprints with full GD&T according to ANSI Y14.5.Experience in creating CMM programs from scratch.Ability to determine datums, sequence inspection steps, and verify critical features.Understanding of ISO quality systems and inspection documentation requirements.Ability to analyze inspection results and determine material usability.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to support quality investigations.Comfortable training personnel on CMM usage and inspection methods.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with PC DMIS or transitioning between software systems.Metrology, calibration, or measurement systems experience.Background with ECO reviews and updating inspection plans.General machining or CNC knowledge that aids in feature understanding.Five years or more of strong CMM programming experience is preferred.Ability to articulate step-by-step programming logic during technical interviews.Experience in any manufacturing environment as long as programming skill is high.Comfortable working in a quality lab and production setting.Ability to support quality investigations and communicate findings clearly.Work Environment
The position is onsite at a facility in West Hartford, CT, involving a mix of production floor interaction and quality lab programming work. It requires collaboration with engineering, operations, and the broader quality team in a hands-on environment with a high technical bar for blueprint interpretation and GD&T execution.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
