Hiring for a CMM Programmer in Cheshire! Job Description We are looking for a dedicated CMM Programmer to join our team, responsible for creating, editing, validating, and maintaining offline coordinate‑measurement programs within an aerospace manufacturing environment. This role involves interpreting complex technical drawings, applying GD&T, generating measurement strategies, and supporting operator execution. Responsibilities + Create and edit offline coordinate‑measurement programs for aerospace manufacturing. + Interpret and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) as per industry standards. + Read and interpret technical aerospace drawings, blueprints, and inspection data. + Generate and document measurement strategies and support operator execution. + Ensure proper documentation, revision control, training, and machine maintenance. + Collaborate with operators, engineers, and quality personnel to ensure optimal performance. + Participate in 5 to 10 percent domestic travel for training and support needs. Essential Skills + Proficiency in CMM programming and offline CMM programming. + Strong knowledge of GD&T and the Y14.5 standards. + Ability to read, understand, and interpret complex aerospace drawings and inspection data. + Experience in metrology software platforms used in aerospace inspections. + Minimum 3 years programming metrology equipment or vision systems. + Minimum 3 years of aerospace layout inspection experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s Degree in Metrology or Engineering preferred but not required. + Knowledge of QMS systems such as AS9100 or ISO 9001. + Ability to train CMM operators and create work instructions. + Experience collaborating in a multi‑facility aerospace manufacturing environment. + Strong computer literacy with metrology programming tools and software. + Ability to learn and adapt to evolving metrology technologies. Work Environment The position is based onsite in Cheshire, CT, within a multi‑facility aerospace manufacturing organization. The role involves physical work including sitting, standing, bending, and movement across the production environment. The work is conducted in a machine and measurement lab environment, emphasizing training, collaboration, and operator interaction. Strong documentation discipline and adherence to software control systems are required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Cheshire, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
