Our Team is seeking a highly experienced and certified Cloud Systems Integration Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. The qualified applicant will support the Space Warfighting Analysis Center’s (SWAC) Mission Support Office (MSO) in Chantilly and/or Reston, VA; Colorado Springs, CO. The Cloud Systems Integration SME will design, plan, and oversee the integration of cloud‑based technologies for SWAC MSO-IT. In this role, you will translate business requirements into robust, scalable, and secure architecture solutions that leverage public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, security, product, and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery, optimal performance, and cost‑effective utilization of cloud-related IT capabilities and services. The applicant should have sufficient experience with DAF Cloud Works, AWS, Azure, and the DoW & IC cloud service offerings, software development processes, system authorization processes, and policies to create cohesive and integrated system architectures. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical DoW missions by leveraging advanced cloud technologies to enhance data processing, analytics, and integration capabilities. In this role you will support activities within Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting DoW agencies, such as HQ Air Force, Office of the Secretary of War and Military Compartments efforts. Required Skills: As a Cloud Systems Integration SME at Parsons, required skills and responsibilities include: + Hands‑on experience with multi‑cloud, hybrid-cloud orchestration platforms (Azure, AWS). + Background in industry‑specific compliance (Risk Management Framework). + Experience with data‑engineering and software development pipelines. + Knowledge of multiple security domain systems integration and cross domain solutions + Coordinate with the SWAC ISSE and Mission System’s Team Lead, develop cloud engineering solutions to support scalable and surge support to SWAC Programs. + Create network designs and schedule/roadmaps as required coordinating and updating the ISSE, MS Team Lead, IT Chief, and MSO leadership of status. + Draft, review, and refine administrative products (memos, position papers, issue papers, operating procedures, etc.) when recommending and implementing cloud solutions. + Research, identify, and maximize use of existing government solutions, relationships, tools, etc to minimize recreating solutions already available. + Recommend investment priorities and cost saving opportunities. + Architecture Design: + Define end‑to‑end architectural blueprints for cloud‑enabled solutions (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS). + Evaluate and select appropriate cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, GovCloud, FENCES etc.) and services based on workload characteristics, compliance, and cost. + Integration Strategy: + Design integration patterns (API gateways, service meshes, event‑driven architectures, CI/CD pipelines) that connect on‑premises systems with cloud workloads. + Ensure data consistency, latency, and reliability across hybrid environments. + Security & Compliance: + Embed security controls (identity & access management, encryption, network segmentation) into all designs. + Align architecture with US government IT regulatory frameworks. + Performance & Cost Optimization: + Model capacity, scalability, and resiliency requirements. + Implement monitoring, observability, and cost‑management practices (right‑sizing, auto‑scaling, reserved instances). + Technical Leadership: + Mentor development and operations teams on cloud best practices and architectural standards. + Conduct design reviews, proof‑of‑concepts, and technology evaluations. + Documentation & Governance: + Produce architecture diagrams, decision logs, and reference implementations. + Establish governance policies for cloud resource provisioning and lifecycle management + Stakeholder Collaboration: + Translate business goals into technical roadmaps. + Communicate architectural trade‑offs and risk assessments to executives and non‑technical stakeholders. + 100% onsite is required in Chantilly and/or Reston, VA; Colorado Springs, CO + Must have Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or other relevant Engineering field from an accredited university with a minimum of 10+ years’ experience in cloud engineering + Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for SCI is required for this position + Special Access eligibility required; Counterintelligence polygraph desired + Certifications (required): + DoW 8570 Information Assurance Management, Level II and/or 8140 + Vendor agnostic cloud security (ex: ISC2 CCSP) + Must have the ability to thrive in a collaborative fast-paced environment, possess strong problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of cloud architecture, and is passionate about solving complex challenges with innovative cloud solutions. + Strong communication skills are essential; Create decision quality materials for senior leadership (technical writing, developing presentations, etc). + Ability to interact with various stakeholders and team members to ensure that all cloud solutions meet mission requirements and adhere to best practices. **Desired Skills:** + Strong technical background (cybersecurity, engineering and/or operations) + Proficiency with software development tools + Strong understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), serverless, and virtual desktop architectures. + Experience with integration technologies (REST/GraphQL APIs, gRPC, messaging queues, ESB, Service Meshes). + Familiarity with networking concepts (VPC, VPN, SD‑WAN, DNS, load balancing). + Understanding of security frameworks (Zero Trust, IAM, encryption at rest/in‑flight). + Methodologies + Architecture frameworks or cloud‑native reference models. + Agile/Scrum development processes. + DevOps culture and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Argo). + Soft Skills + Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities. + Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving skills. + Ability to influence cross‑functional teams and drive consensus. + Proficiency in Security processes/procedures (e.g., document marking/handling, generating and transmitting correspondence) **Security Clearance Requirement:** An active Top Secret SCI security clearance is required for this position.​ This position is part of our Federal Solutions team.
