Closing Manager

Primary Function

The Manager – Closing is responsible for managing a team of Closers and ensures that all requests for Closings/Scheduling are timely worked and confirms that exception items have been properly cleared.

Principal Duties

Responsible for managing a team of ClosersEnsures that all Requests for Closings/Scheduling are timely worked (within 2 hours of receipt) and confirms that exception items have been properly clearedWorks with broker partners to coordinate closingsManages capacity to ensure compliant closing documents are generated and forwarded prior to scheduled closing datesEnsures that all closings are completed based upon timely receipt and tracking of documentation and that all supporting documentation is uploaded to the origination imaging system when receivedAssures that collateral is provided timely to the funding team upon document receiptPerforms related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience Requirements  

High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.Minimum four (4) years of experience in mortgage closing (conventional and government; purchase and refinance)Minimum four (4) years of experience in loan closing administration, prior supervisory experience required

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements  

Excellent working knowledge of mortgage closing practices and proceduresProven ability to lead, coach, and mentor at all position levelsCollege degree preferredSolid knowledge of Federal and State regulatory policies and proceduresKnowledge of FNMA, FHLMC and Government guidelinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsStrong interpersonal skills: the ability to effectively interact with various styles and levels of management and be able to adjust own communication style based on the audienceStrong PC skills, including Excel, Word, Loan Origination Systems a plus, etc.Ability to consistently maintain high performance level in stressful situations
