We’re looking for a Clinical Payments Specialist to lead the end‑to‑end clinical site payment process across the Americas region. In this highly visible and impactful role, you’ll oversee a global payments portfolio, support internalization initiatives, collaborate with operational teams, and ensure world‑class service to clinical sites and internal stakeholders.
What You’ll DoAs a key member of our global payments team, you will:
Lead and oversee the work of team members and vendors to guarantee accurate and timely investigator site payments.
Drive the site payment internalization initiative, setting priorities and ensuring flawless execution.
Manage complex, non-routine payment workflows, helping resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
Act as the main point of contact for Global Clinical Operations, investigators, and other internal/external partners.
Collaborate with vendors and site contracts teams to establish accounts and clarify payment terms.
Monitor and optimize payment processes, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
Maintain payment tracking systems (Smartsheet, Power BI) and ensure ALCOA+C‑compliant financial documentation.
Provide training and serve as Subject Matter Expert on clinical site payments for global teams.
Support audits, reporting, reconciliations, and system enhancements across the portfolio.
Continuously identify process improvements and champion operational excellence.
What We’re Looking ForThe ideal candidate brings a mix of leadership, financial acumen, operational excellence, and strong communication skills. You are someone who can navigate complexity, work across global teams, and remain calm under pressure.
Must-haves:
Bachelor’s degree
4+ years in finance, pharma, biotech, clinical operations, or investigator payments
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Fluent in written and verbal English and Portuguese. Preferable to also have written and verbal Spanish skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Ability to work independently and in matrixed global teams
Preferred:
Knowledge of clinical trial payment processes in North America & LATAM
Experience managing vendors
Familiarity with CTMS systems (Oracle CTMS preferred), ClinRun, Smartsheet, SharePoint, MS Project
Understanding of financial files, investigator budgets, and contract implications
Comfortable presenting to small/medium audiences
Flexible, tech‑savvy, and highly organized with a positive, proactive attitude
