Don't miss out on the opportunity to work alongside the world's best in paediatric healthcare. **Position Description** **Clinical Research Project Manager, GEMINI-Paediatrics** We are looking for a highly motivated Clinical Research Project Manager to join our team at the Child Health Evaluative Sciences (CHES) program in the Research Institute at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. Under the supervision of Drs. Peter Gill and Sanjay Mahant (Scientists, SickKids RI and Departments of Paediatrics), the successful candidate will play a central role in managing a large research program that is dedicated to improving care and outcomes for hospitalized children across Ontario and beyond. GEMINI (www.geminimedicine.ca) is a unique big data platform in Canada using advanced methods and analytics to extract and standardize data captured in hospital electronic health records. GEMINI currently exists at 35+ Ontario hospitals and supports the Ontario General Medicine Quality Improvement Network, GeMQIN, a provincial network led by Ontario Health to improve care for general medicine hospital patients. GEMINI is a collaborative data and analytics platform for all Ontario hospitals to accelerate research and quality improvement, leading to excellent hospital care. GEMINI has recently expanded to develop GEMINI-Paediatrics, Co-Led by Drs. Mahant and Gill, which will include all paediatric inpatient visits across 35+ Ontario hospitals, including all specialty children's hospitals. In collaboration with the GEMINI-Paediatrics leadership, the Clinical Research Project Manager will plan and manage the overall research program and research team. This includes long-term planning of ongoing projects, day-to-day operations of ongoing studies, including tracking project timelines and budgets. The successful candidate will manage the personnel on the research team, including ongoing training and supervision, and organizing team meetings. In addition, they will play an integral role liaising with external research and government partners and organizing communication strategies for the GEMINI-Paediatrics network. The successful candidate will possess excellent relationship-building skills, initiative, and project management skills. This is a full-time role (1.0 FTE, 35 hours/week) beginning with a one-year contract. The candidate will work within a dynamic team of paediatric clinician-researchers, data analysts and scientists, research coordinators and assistants, clinicians and quality improvement specialists focused on the care of hospitalized children. They will work with the Canadian Paediatric Inpatient Research Network (PIRN - https://www.pirncanada.com/), a national network focused on generating evidence for hospitalized children in general paediatric settings. To read more about the types of research studies conducted with this team, see the lab website (click here: https://lab.research.sickkids.ca/mahant-gill/) and the Canadian Paediatric Inpatient Research Network (PIRN) homepage (click here: https://www.pirncanada.com/ongoing-projects). **Here's What You'll Get To Do:** **Protocol Related** · Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and milestones; · Prepare protocols for use; · Provide project management guidance and support on multiple projects; · Develop and maintain relevant project and management policies and procedures; · Support data governance efforts and data privacy protocols; · Support funding application development and submissions; · Provide supervisory support and guidance to the research staff, including updates on policies, guidelines and regulations; · Provide oversight on operational processes, identify issues and recommend risk mitigation strategies. **Research** · Chair research group meetings as directed; · Manage data access requests and approvals; · Support and participate in research steering committees, governance committees as needed; · Synthesize, interpret and present research-related information in written reports and manuscripts; · Provide oversight in the coordination and maintenance of research contracts and data sharing agreements across 30+ hospitals and partnering institutions; · Prepare study materials and regulatory documents; · Initiate the development of research proposals and protocols; · Coordinate and maintain research ethics approvals for multiple studies. **Human Resources/Finances** · Coordinate research grant processes; · Develop forecasting and budgeting plans for research grants; · Manage project budget and oversee vendor and stakeholder payments; · Engage and lead various operational activities with internal and external business teams, such as Human Resources, Finances, and Contracts; · Actively participate in departmental/program meetings, or rounds to acquire and disseminate knowledge and to profile clinical research; · Monitor Staff performance and assist PI with annual performance appraisals. **Here's What You'll Need:** · Master's degree in Epidemiology, Health Science or related field with a minimum of 3 years experience in clinical research OR a licensed healthcare professional with 5-7 years' related clinical research experience; · A project management designation or certification, e.g., PMP or equivalent is an asset; · Familiarity with privacy legislation (such as PIPEDA, PHIPA) as it relates to the conduct of clinical research preferred; · Excellent project management skills; · Experience in financial management of projects and program budgets; · Excellent written and verbal communication skills; · Demonstrated flexibility and have the ability to adapt and manage changing priorities; · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; · Familiarity with Ontario healthcare services and healthcare landscape is an asset; · Detailed oriented and ability to multi-task; · Proficient with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc). · A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives. _Interested applicants should submit a cover letter outlining their research interests and career goals, a curriculum vitae including a publication list, and a sample of academic writing (e.g., article, report, proposal, or grant)._ **Employment Type:** Full-Time, 12 month contract with possibility for renewal \#LI-DNI **Our Commitment to Diversity** SickKids is committed to championing equity, diversity and inclusion in all that we do, fostering an intentionally inclusive and culturally safe environment that reflects the diversity of the patients, families and communities we serve.
