In addition, the Clinical Pharmacist – Client Advisor, in collaboration with the Account Management team, is responsible for building and maintaining key relationships within an assigned client portfolio to understand and anticipate clients’ needs and expectations. The Clinical Pharmacist – Client Advisor provides leadership to the Prior Authorization Program and collaborates with cross-functional committees to deliver high quality and clinically sound products and formularies. The role is responsible for contributing specialized clinical knowledge to the direction of existing and new products. **Key Responsibilities** + Represent Express Scripts Canada in a client facing role as subject matter expert on drug formulary, drug trends, and clinical programs interact with internal and external customers to provide insights on pharmacy practice, drug trends, medical advances and legislation + Provide strategic direction and clinical expertise to guide the implementation, communication, education and maintenance of clinical programs and formularies + Serve as clinical thought-leader on the Drug Plan Validation Committee, providing knowledge transfer to Express Scripts Canada customers (insurance carriers and third party administrators) on complex clinical topics + Provide leadership to the Prior Authorization program and review Prior Authorization requests, including gathering medical information, making coverage decisions, and communicating with patients, physicians or pharmacists as required + Ensure accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of patient status within the operations systems.
