JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Clincial Nurse in our Growing Child Pediatrics Clinic located in Wake Forest, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct patient care, triage, and independent days with a nurse visit schedule. The nurse in this role will support pediatric primary care providers with a focus outpatient behavioral health management.  The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with optional weekends or holidays

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide nurse triage support for all GCP providers (including Behavioral Health providers). Assess patient needs via phone or InBasket messages. Utilize standing orders and RN Triage program within MaestroCare. Submit prescription refills to pharmacy based on standing orders and provider collaboration. Initiate and follow up on prior authorization submissions to insurance.  Document vaccine records in MaestroCare and NCIR. Complete (or assist with) school forms, DME orders, and any other patient paperwork requests. Once oriented to the role, act as a preceptor to other nurses on an as-needed basis including ability to triage patient phone calls/messages and respond, route, and document medical information appropriately. Perform clinical duties and direct patient care as needed. Float to other Growing Child Pediatrics clinics to cover patient and provider needs as delegated by nurse manager, health center administrator, charge nurse, or nurse team lead. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

 

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within seven years of their start date. Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required. At a manager's discretion, employees with 6 months of experience who are exceptional performers may be eligible for this level. Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
