Job Description

Clinical Laboratory Clerk (Evening Shift)

Support essential lab operations and patient care behind the scenes and at the bedside.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Clinical Laboratory Clerk to support the day-to-day clerical and phlebotomy functions of our dynamic Clinical Laboratory team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that lab services run smoothly and efficiently for patients and providers alike.

Key Responsibilities

Perform a variety of clerical tasks including logging in specimens, processing samples for reference labs, charting, filing, answering phones, and handling specimen pickup and delivery.

Provide high-quality phlebotomy services for outpatients (first shift only).

Greet and assist patients and visitors, providing clear and compassionate communication.

Maintain orderly and accurate records while managing priorities under direct supervision.

Collaborate with laboratory staff and contribute to an efficient and well-organized work environment.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Strong verbal communication skills to interact with patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals.

Ability to work with patients of all ages, understanding developmental and comfort needs.

Written communication skills for taking clear, accurate messages.

Computer skills with the ability to navigate a Windows-based environment.

Solid organizational abilities and attention to detail.

Physical ability to: Availability to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of coursework in medical terminology.

Previous phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting.
