Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Technician to join our team at Sequenom in San Diego, CA.

 

Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 11:00pm - 7:30am

 

Job Responsibilities

Identify, prioritize, and prepare all clinical samples while ensuring viability and sample integrity throughout the test processPrepares and label tubes according to established protocolsPrepare clinical samples for testing and identify sample related issuesAdhere to quality control guidelines to ensure integrity of laboratory specimensMaintains inventory and organization of specimen samples in the freezerAccession samples and enter data into the laboratory information systemAssist coordinating documentationMonitor and maintain consumable inventory including reagents and supplies for each of the laboratory work stations.Performs general laboratory, equipment, and benchtop clean-upPrepare logs or other documents for routine testing or special assignmentsProvide assistance to licensed CLS personnel who are performing test protocols using established proceduresUnder the direct supervision of a licensed CLS, dispense pre-made and prequalified reagents/controls using a pre-programmed fixed volume measuring devicesProvide laboratory support in the daily maintenance and surface decontamination of general laboratory equipment

 

Minimum Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirementsStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office required

Preferred Qualification:

Previous experience working in a clinical laboratory highly preferredExperience with molecular biology techniques highly desiredKnowledge of general laboratory processes and medical terminology required

Ability to maintain production and quality standards determined by the clinical laboratoryMust be able to work with whole blood or blood by-products and comply with safety policies and procedures outlined in laboratory procedures and safety training providedMust be able to perform repetitive tasks frequently as required throughout the dayMust be able to pass a standardized color vision screen

**Pay Range: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

Plus 3rd shift differential

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
