Job Overview
Fairview is looking for a Clinical Documentation Liaison (CDI) to join our team. This is an advanced level position utilizing ICD-10-CM and ICD-10 PCS Coding Classification systems and is responsible for design, implementation, and monitoring of facility physician education around clinical documentation integrity for the Fairview system. The CDI Liaison is focused on quality and support including quality assurance checks and education for inpatient providers and CDI specialists to support the enterprise goal of accurate, specific, consistent, and complete Hospital Coding & Billing. This work will involve the use of provided CDI software and other technical tools to assist and enhance the CDI Program efforts. The CDI Liaison's will also be working with Governance Taskforces to address documentation issues and functionality as well as education with nursing and ancillary staff to assist in clinical support of the provider documentation as appropriate documentation assists in improving the organizational financial performance.

B.S./B.A. (or higher) in Nursing or Health Information Management (HIM) or related field or equivalent experienceKnowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and pathophysiology, pharmacology, ancillary test results.Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and DRG classification systems.Knowledge of physician and nursing unit practices.Excellent interpersonal, analytical critical thinking, problem solving and conflict management skills to foster a positive working environment.Strong attention to detail.Ability to enter data, track, and reconcile sensitive material with minimal errors.Ability to problem-solve, work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, identify process improvement opportunities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Builds effective partnerships with other coding and documentation staff, ancillary staff, and medical providers, fostering open lines of communications and establishing trust.Experience with Epic and knowledge of encoder products and computer-assisted codingBasic knowledge of Windows based computer software.One of the following: CCDS, CDIS, CDIP, CDEI, CCS, CPC, CCDSO or CCIO
