Clinical Applications Analyst: Cerner PharmNet
CTG is seeking a Cerner Cerner PharmNet Analyst to join our team. The Cerner PharmNet Analyst will be responsible for supporting, optimizing, and maintaining pharmacy information systems across the medication-use process. This role works closely with pharmacy leadership, clinical staff, and IT teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant medication workflows. The analyst provides technical expertise for Cerner PharmNet and integrates it with key pharmacy technologies including BD Pyxis, BD Logistics, DoseEdge, TPN systems, and Baxter ExactaMix. Key Responsibilities Cerner PharmNet Support & Optimization Configure, build, and maintain Cerner PharmNet medication dictionaries, orderables, formularies, clinical decision support, and workflow rules. Support medication order entry, verification, dispensing, and administration workflows. Manage medication routing, charge capture, barcode medication administration (BCMA) alignment, and pharmacy–clinical integration. Participate in system upgrades, domain migrations, and testing cycles. Medication Dispensing & Automation Systems Support BD Pyxis ES/MedStation, Pyxis Logistics, and related BD applications. Maintain cabinet configuration, formulary mapping, user access, and controlled substance workflows. Troubleshoot interface issues between Pyxis and Cerner PharmNet, including HL7 and device connectivity. Sterile Compounding & IV Workflow Technologies Support DoseEdge workflow management, including recipe configuration, barcode mapping, and integration with PharmNet. Maintain TPN ordering and compounding workflows, ensuring accurate mapping to compounding devices. Configure and support Baxter ExactaMix integration, including order routing, compound templates, and validation processes. System Integration & Interfaces Collaborate with interface teams to maintain and troubleshoot HL7 interfaces between PharmNet and pharmacy automation systems. Ensure accurate data flow for medication orders, dispensing events, inventory updates, and compounding records. Participate in new device implementations, interface upgrades, and workflow redesigns. Project Management & Implementation Lead or support pharmacy informatics projects such as formulary updates, new medication rollouts, automation deployments, and workflow optimization initiatives. Develop and execute test scripts for validation, regression testing, and change control. Provide go-live support and post-implementation optimization. Training, Documentation & Support Create and maintain system documentation, including build guides, workflow diagrams, and change logs. Provide training and support to pharmacy staff, clinicians, and IT partners. Communicate system changes, downtime procedures, and upgrade impacts to stakeholders. Qualifications Required Experience supporting Cerner PharmNet or another pharmacy information system. Strong understanding of pharmacy workflows, medication-use processes, and pharmacy terminology. Experience with pharmacy automation systems (Pyxis, DoseEdge, TPN systems, or compounding devices). Ability to analyze complex technical and clinical workflows and translate them into system configuration. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
