Clinical Applications Analyst: Cerner FirstNet
CTG is seeking a Cerner FirstNet Analyst to join our team. The Cerner FirstNet Analyst plays a key role in supporting clinical operations within Emergency Department (ED) and Urgent Care environments. This role focuses on optimizing FirstNet functionality, maintaining accurate tracking groups and events, and ensuring clinicians have the tools and workflows needed to deliver efficient, high‑quality patient care. The analyst collaborates closely with clinical staff, IT teams, and operational leaders to enhance system performance and user experience. **Key Responsibilities** **FirstNet Configuration & Support** + Configure, maintain, and optimize Cerner FirstNet components, including tracking boards, tracking groups, events, and documentation workflows. + Troubleshoot FirstNet issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions. + Support ED and Urgent Care clinicians with workflow design, system navigation, and best‑practice use of FirstNet tools. **Emergency Department & Urgent Care Workflow Optimization** + Partner with clinical leadership to understand operational needs and translate them into effective FirstNet configurations. + Ensure system workflows align with triage, patient flow, provider assignment, and discharge processes. + Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to streamline ED and Urgent Care operations. **Tracking Groups & Events Management** + Build and maintain tracking groups, tracking events, and status indicators to support real‑time patient flow visibility. + Ensure tracking logic accurately reflects clinical processes, regulatory requirements, and departmental priorities. + Collaborate with stakeholders to adjust tracking configurations as workflows evolve. **Patient Education Integration** + Configure and maintain patient education content within Cerner, ensuring clinicians can easily access and distribute appropriate materials. + Support the integration of patient education tools into clinical workflows, including discharge instructions and educational handouts. + Work with clinical teams to validate content relevance, accuracy, and usability. **Testing, Training & Documentation** + Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and new module implementations, including test script creation and execution. + Develop and deliver training materials, tip sheets, and workflow documentation for clinical end users. + Provide go‑live support and ongoing optimization after system changes. **Collaboration & Communication** + Serve as a liaison between clinical teams, IT, and Cerner support to ensure timely resolution of issues. + Communicate system changes, updates, and impacts clearly to stakeholders. + Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to gather requirements and share system insights. **Qualifications** **Required** + Experience supporting Cerner FirstNet or other Cerner Millennium applications. + Strong understanding of Emergency Department and/or Urgent Care clinical workflows. + Ability to configure and maintain tracking groups, tracking events, and patient education tools. + Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
