Clinical Applications Analyst: Cerner CPOE
CTG is seeking a Cerner CPOE Analyst to join our team. The Cerner CPOE Analyst will be responsible for supporting, optimizing, and maintaining computerized provider order entry (CPOE) workflows within the Cerner Millennium platform. This role partners closely with clinical, pharmacy, nursing, and IT teams to ensure that electronic ordering processes are safe, efficient, and aligned with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. The analyst plays a key role in system configuration, clinical workflow design, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancement of CPOE functionality. **Key Responsibilities** **CPOE Configuration & Maintenance** + Build, configure, and maintain Cerner CPOE components including orderables, power plans, order sentences, clinical decision support (CDS), and documentation workflows. + Maintain and optimize order catalogs, nomenclature, and mapping to downstream systems (pharmacy, lab, radiology, ancillary services). + Support domain migrations, system upgrades, and testing cycles. **Clinical Workflow Optimization** + Collaborate with clinical stakeholders to analyze ordering workflows and identify opportunities for improvement. + Ensure CPOE workflows support evidence‑based practice, regulatory standards, and patient safety initiatives. + Align CPOE configuration with clinical pathways, care plans, and interdisciplinary workflows. **Clinical Decision Support (CDS)** + Configure and maintain CDS tools such as alerts, rules, order checks, and guidance content. + Partner with clinical leadership to evaluate alert effectiveness and reduce alert fatigue. + Support governance processes for CDS review, approval, and change management. **Troubleshooting & Support** + Provide Tier 2/3 support for CPOE‑related issues, including order entry errors, routing problems, and workflow disruptions. + Work with Cerner support, interface teams, and internal IT to resolve system issues. + Monitor system performance and proactively address potential risks. **Project Management & Implementation** + Lead or support CPOE‑related projects such as new service line implementations, order set redesigns, and clinical workflow initiatives. + Develop and execute test scripts for validation, regression testing, and change control. + Provide go‑live support and post‑implementation optimization. **Training, Documentation & Communication** + Create and maintain system documentation including build guides, workflow diagrams, and change logs. + Provide training and support to clinicians, super users, and operational leaders. + Communicate system changes, downtime procedures, and upgrade impacts to stakeholders. **Qualifications** **Required** + Experience supporting Cerner Millennium, preferably CPOE, PowerPlans, or clinical workflows. + Strong understanding of clinical processes, order entry workflows, and interdisciplinary care. + Ability to analyze complex clinical and technical problems and develop effective solutions. + Experience with system configuration, testing, and change management. + Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
