Client Service Associate Intern

BRIEF DESCRIPTION  

The primary role of the Client Services Associate is to support the Account Management and Client Service teams with the tactical deliverables within the services and products offered to our clients.  This internship opportunity will provide exposure to the clients’ benefit plan design, plan audits and compliance reviews, account planning meetings, and strategic support within the client partnership.    

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited, to the following:  

Client Services 

Assist with plan audits, including review of contracts, amendments and other documents, to ensure compliance and appropriate documentation is aligned with plan design; 

Assist in the preparation of the compliance and renewal checklists for assigned clients; 

Participate in the benchmarking analysis for assigned clients; 

Create and maintain online files for all clients; 

Research client plan documents to assist in answering client questions; 

Assist with the development and updates of newsletters, benefit summaries, enrollment presentations, and highlight brochures; 

Participate in special projects, including, dependent eligibility audits and benefit statements; 

Assist and support needs generated by the Compliance Department such as, but not limited to, review form 5500 data requests; 

Assist in filing stop loss claims; 

Assist Financial Consulting and/or Voluntary Benefits teams with project support as needed; 

 

Account Management 

Observe Account Management teams to establish and cultivate relationships within client organizations to build high levels of client satisfaction while executing proper client agreements; 

Participate with the development, implementation and management of client specific project plans; 

Assist with the preparation of strategic account planning meetings and annual executive summits; 

Assist with Spending Account and Employee Assistance Program request for proposal process and analysis; 

Assist with the creation of contract terms, rates, plans, schedules, resources, involvement, and service expectations; 

Research new sources of revenue within specific client services and products; 

Assist with the creation of revenue forecasts to sales management; 

Assist in the research phases which influence business performance and provide findings that will improve profitability and/or enhance revenue for MMA to Account Management teams; 

Develop and maintain skills, knowledge and proficiencies required to be effective in sales techniques and in support of client strategies, goals and objectives; 

Continually build knowledge and skills to keep pace with market trends. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  

Working towards Bachelor’s Degree, preferably within Risk Management, Insurance or general Business; 

Prior internship experience in a benefits brokerage, consulting, or insurance industry is preferred; 

Effective analytical, math and problem solving skills, sound judgment, strong decision making ability, confidence to make difficult decisions and excellent communication skills; 

Must be organized, detail oriented and able to translate big picture ideas into client objectives.

Demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service and maintain positive relationships with client contacts; 

Must have computer skills proficiency and experience with MS Office suite (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint); 

Proficiency in use of PC such as keyboard skills and electronic folder/file organization and management; 

Aptitude for learning internal systems, applications and internal work flow of the department; 

Must be able to effectively interact with people at all levels inside and outside of the Company.

WORK LOCATION  

Work is typically performed either on site at Conshohocken, PA office, or at various customer/MMA locations as required. 

 

The applicable hourly rate for this role is $25.
