Job Description

Join our team as a Cleanroom Technician, where you will play a crucial role in processing nutrition feed, alfalfa, and silage samples. You will be responsible for operating both manual and electric grinding machines, ensuring samples are correctly labeled, organized, and stored for lab testing.

ResponsibilitiesOperate manual and electric grinding machines to process feed, alfalfa, and silage samples.Utilize a manual mixer to grind samples, ensuring each batch is processed for the set time.Label and organize finished samples for storage and laboratory testing.Vacuum and clean the mixer between sample batches to maintain cleanliness.Assist in prepping samples onto moving racks for grinding machine processing.Perform various sample processing tasks, including grinding, separating, labeling, and cleaning.Stand in one area for extended periods, bend, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.Essential SkillsExperience in cleanroom, assembly, packaging, and production line environments.Proficiency in operating cleaning and machine equipment.High School Diploma or GED.1+ year of production or labor experience.Ability to work in warm and dusty conditions, despite a temperature-controlled facility.Capability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for the duration of the shift.1+ years of experience performing repetitive tasks.Additional Skills & QualificationsAttention to detail for accurate labeling.Ability to work efficiently in a team setting.Comfortable working in a dusty, loud, and dirty environment.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is warm and dusty, requiring safety equipment such as hearing protection, eye protection, and face masks, all of which are provided. The facility is temperature-controlled but not suitable for individuals with allergies or asthma due to dusty conditions. The team consists of 10-15 members during busy seasons. The role requires working Monday through Friday with potential overtime up to 4:30 pm, and includes a 30-minute lunch and 15-minute breaks. The dress code includes safety glasses, closed-toe shoes, shorts or jeans, and work-appropriate shirts. Smoking is not allowed on campus.

This is a Contract position based out of Johnston, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
