About the Role

CEC is hiring several Human Resources Classification Specialists to support the Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC) Human Resources Branch at the Pentagon. This team is responsible for tackling and eliminating a classification backlog and improving position management across multiple HQMC organizations.

What You’ll Do

Review and classify federal civilian positions using OPM standards Recommend title, series, and grade for lower-grade or administrative support positions Conduct organizational audits to identify position management issues Review and advise on position descriptions Analyze competencies and occupational families Review applicant assessment questionnaires for compliance with OPM best practices Provide guidance to managers and employees on classification and HR programs Maintain classification documentation and reconcile organizational records Run reports, update data, and support HR system coding Lead or support meetings on classification or recruitment tools

What We’re Looking For

Required:

At least 1 year of specialized federal experience at the GS-11 level (or equivalent) Hands-on experience applying OPM classification standards Experience reviewing/writing/advising on federal position descriptions Ability to analyze job data and recommend classification decisions Strong written communication skills Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance Ability to work onsite at the Pentagon full time

Preferred:

Experience with DoD or Marine Corps HR operations Experience conducting position management reviews or organizational audits Familiarity with automated PD libraries and HR information systems Knowledge of competency models or assessment development
