Claims Specialist (3-Month Contract)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Claims Specialist to support auto and workers’ compensation claims during a short-term coverage period.

Under the guidance of a manager, this role will handle a variety of specialized and analytical claims-related tasks, including monitoring, coordinating, and processing claims while maintaining thorough documentation.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage and process workers’ compensation and auto claims, including bodily injury, physical damage, property damage, and liabilityMonitor claims activity across multiple systems and ensure timely updatesAct as a subject matter expert on workers’ comp and auto claims, advising on applicable laws, regulations, policies, and proceduresConduct interviews with injured employees and verify job-related incidents with supervisorsMaintain detailed case documentation, claim files, correspondence, and OSHA recordsRespond to inquiries from employees, TPAs, medical providers, carriers, and internal stakeholdersTrack and record leave related to workers’ comp benefits; coordinate with payroll and HR for adjustmentsReview claims and collaborate with claim consultants to ensure reserve accuracy within authority limitsPrepare account status reports and support escalated or complex claims issues as neededParticipate in meetings, workshops, or trainings to stay current on industry practicesRequired Qualifications (Must-Haves)1+ years of experience managing and processing claimsExperience in auto and/or workers’ compensation claimsBilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal)Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skillsProficient in data entry and claims analysisAbility to multitask and manage competing priorities effectivelyPreferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)Experience with claims systems and reporting toolsStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Experience supporting escalated or complex claimsWhy Join Us?Short-term, high-impact contract covering a critical business needHands-on exposure to complex workers’ comp and auto claimsCollaborative work environment with experienced leadershipOpportunity to strengthen claims expertise and expand professional experiencePotential for future opportunities beyond the contractJob Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Bronx, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
