The Field Superintendent plays a crucial role by providing leadership to plan, organize, direct, supervise, coordinate, and control all daily activities on the job site. The goal is to ensure that project completion requirements and profitability objectives are met while maintaining and building strong customer relationships.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure that safety planning is integrated into all pre-job planning and prioritize it during daily operations.Create a safe work environment by fostering a culture of safety and holding each individual accountable for safe behavior.Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.Independently supervise projects and effectively communicate with clients and project managers.Manage multiple projects and crews as required.Create daily and two-week schedules aligned with the overall project schedule and communicate them with on-site supervision.Plan work efficiently and maintain appropriate labor levels to streamline project completion.Identify and resolve productivity issues proactively.Analyze daily and weekly cost reports with the VP of Operations and Project Manager to identify areas needing attention and implement cost-saving procedures.Represent the company in project and strategy meetings.Order materials, schedule deliveries, and coordinate with the support team to achieve project success.Handle all project survey layout and complete as-built plan data.Perform required project information reporting, including computerized daily reporting, production reports, and safety documentation.Identify and manage T&M and Change Order work.Continuously develop and apply leadership skills.Essential Skills6+ years of concrete construction experience with at least 3 years as a Superintendent.Experience with various form systems.Ability to read and understand civil, structural, and architectural plans, specifications, and contractual requirements.Proficiency in PC software and systems such as Microsoft Office, PDF, Email, Spreadsheets, Online Plan & Document Storage, and Microsoft Project (or similar).Strong organizational, management, oral, and written communication skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications5+ years of experience with a self-perform civil construction company (roadway, highway, bridge, transit).Extensive knowledge of concrete construction, including slump load, formwork, rebar, and types of concrete.Experience in reading and interpreting civil blueprints for schedule and budget management.Work EnvironmentThe position operates from an on-site trailer for projects located within the NJ, PA, and NY markets. The role offers a company truck or a $700/month car allowance, an iPad, full benefits, and a bonus opportunity based on company and individual performance. The work environment is dynamic, with a growing civil construction company that has a strong backlog of work with high-profile clients.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62.50 - $76.92/hr.
