Civil Project Engineer
Job Title: Civil Project EngineerJob Description

The Civil Project Engineer will lead a technical team, including project staff engineers and/or CAD Designers, reporting to a Project Manager. The position requires independent planning, execution, and oversight of engineering tasks to ensure project completion.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare engineering analysis, design, calculations, and reports for project review by a Project Manager.Design grading and drainage for site improvements.Design utility piping systems, involving sanitary, water main, fire protection, and storm drainage.Perform hydrology and hydraulic calculations for gravity and pressure piping systems and above-ground conveyances.Work with dynamic design teams, including landscape architects, land use planners, attorneys, owners, and facility managers.Prepare project drawings, calculations, and specifications.Assist in the preparation of proposals and fee estimates for potential projects of limited scope and complexity.Perform construction assistance tasks such as responding to RFIs, visiting job sites, reviewing submittals, and coordinating design team revisions.Develop and present project-specific or technical presentations to clients, technical organizations, and in-house staff.Mentor staff engineers.Prepare plan reviews, permit applications, analyze zoning ordinances, and evaluate land use.Attend and participate in public meetings related to projects, such as planning, commission, and city council meetings.Stay current on legal and industry regulations.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsBachelor\u2019s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.5+ years of engineering experience with progressively increasing responsibility, including internships.In-depth experience using AutoCAD for land development applications.Proficiency in Civil 3D.Working knowledge of typical computer software programs used for civil engineering design and management, such as Microsoft Office.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in land development within the private sector.Knowledge of stormwater management.EIT certification (preferred).Work Environment

This is a full-time position with working hours from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with overtime as required. The role involves a hybrid work setting, requiring presence in the office three days a week. While most work is performed in an office setting, some outdoor work is required for inspecting various land use developments, construction sites, or public works facilities. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate drafting instruments, computers, and various office equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $48.00/hr.
