Civil Project Engineer
Job Title: Civil Project Engineer Job Description As a Civil Project Engineer, you will provide crucial engineering support and expertise during the construction phases of projects. Your role will involve interpreting designs, adjusting them to mitigate construction delays, and ensuring compliance with design engineering requirements through reviews and field inspections. Responsibilities + Provide construction site engineering support during project phases to interpret and adjust designs. + Review all design drawings/specifications and perform daily field inspections to ensure compliance. + Support construction/engineering for required project submittals for approval. + Prepare construction-related reports based on job site inspections. + Communicate daily with construction and design teams to resolve problems and issues. + Assist in developing, updating, and monitoring planning and project schedule. + Perform all engineering tasks using standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. + Interpret plans and specifications to support construction. + Prepare miscellaneous reports for project management to support necessary submittals and designs. + Coordinate subcontractors' activities. + Document and distribute all design changes and field modifications in collaboration with subcontractors. + Work with design engineering to resolve issues. Essential Skills + Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university. + Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in structural engineering. + 3+ years of experience as a Construction Project Engineer supporting civil/structural projects. + Experience with on-site structural installations of heavy foundations and steel structures. + Proficiency in RFI, Change Order, Submittal, and Subcontractor Management. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. + Experience with industry standard engineering software such as STAAD Pro and MathCad. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with construction standards, concepts, principles, processes, and approaches for timely resolution on design issues. + Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant. Work Environment This is an on-site role at a nuclear project site. You will work closely with both construction and home office teams to expedite requests for information during construction to minimize schedule impacts. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Laurel, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $46.00/hr.
