Civil Project Engineer
Job Title: Civil Project EngineerJob Description

The Civil Project Engineer plays a crucial role in planning, scheduling, and coordinating detailed project phases. This position requires independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. The engineer will supervise project team personnel, maintain client relationships, and ensure the professional advancement of team members.

ResponsibilitiesPossess general knowledge of other disciplines involved in multi-disciplined projects.Demonstrate sufficient professional experience to ensure competence as a fully trained engineer.Prepare construction plans, estimates, specifications, and bid documents for local municipalities according to applicable agency standards.Develop proposal estimates of time and cost required to complete a project.Assist in presenting proposals to clients and selecting a project team.Collaborate with clients on major project design decisions such as setbacks, roadway locations, storm drains, sewer, and utility routes.Assign duties to the project team, answer their questions, and monitor their progress.Check the accuracy of completed work.Maintain a close relationship with the client throughout project development, assist in contractor selection, and continue client contact after project completion.Monitor construction and review and recommend change orders.Ensure the timely and accurate completion of assigned projects.Support various municipal projects primarily within Oakland and Macomb counties, focusing on design, engineering, construction, contractor communication, and grant applications.Mentor and guide graduate-level engineers as needed.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.5+ years of experience in Civil Design, Civil Construction, and/or Civil Project Engineering roles.Experience in municipal and/or government civil design/construction projects, with openness to other areas such as Land Development, Transportation, W/WW, or other civil types of projects.PE license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.Proficiency in CAD.Additional Skills & Qualifications10+ years of experience is a plus.Knowledge of Sewer/Water/Storm Computational Methods.Experience with Trenchless Design.Proficiency in MicroStation and/or Civil 3D design.Project management experience.Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with some flexibility. The position offers one day of remote work after an initial 30-90 day training period. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $50.00/hr.
