Civil Engineer – Land Development

Starting Salary: $90,000+

A growing civil engineering team is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join its land development group. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers, contribute to impactful community‑shaping projects, and expand your technical skills across a wide range of development types including commercial, residential, mixed‑use, and multi‑disciplinary design environments.

Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate closely with engineers to deliver efficient, high‑quality land development and site design solutions.Design stormwater and drainage systems that meet regulatory requirements while emphasizing performance and sustainability.Prepare detailed site plans, including grading, utilities, and layouts for commercial, residential, retail, and mixed‑use developments.Assist with land development engineering tasks, traffic‑related design elements, and site feasibility analyses.Support landscape architecture components by integrating functional, technical, and aesthetic design elements into cohesive site plans.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.Minimum of 3 years of civil engineering experience, preferably in land development, site design, or related areas.Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, including surfaces, alignments, grading, and utility design.Experience designing grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater management systems.Ability to develop clear, accurate, and buildable site plans that satisfy regulatory standards and client objectives.Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Haven, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $65.00/hr.
