Civil Engineer – Water Resources / Infrastructure Project Engineer / Project Manager Shape New York City’s Water Infrastructure We’re seeking an experienced Project Engineer / Project Manager with 6+ years of civil and water resources experience to lead the planning, design, and delivery of water, stormwater, and sewer infrastructure projects throughout New York City. In this role, you’ll serve as a technical leader and project coordinator, working collaboratively with internal design teams and key municipal agencies—most notably NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). What You’ll Do + Lead and oversee civil and water resources engineering design, including stormwater management, drainage, sewer, pumping stations, and utilities + Perform hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling for stormwater systems, sewer networks, and flood risk analysis + Prepare high-quality design documents: plans, profiles, grading, utilities, site drainage, and construction details + Produce and review technical reports, feasibility studies, engineering calculations, and modeling summaries + Ensure designs meet NYC DEP standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements + Act as a technical liaison with clients and agency stakeholders + Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining strong QA/QC, schedules, and budgets + Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering technical growth and collaboration What You BringRequired Experience & Skills + 6–10 years of experience in water resources, stormwater, drainage, sewer, and water infrastructure design + Strong background in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, stormwater design, and flood mitigation + Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS + Hands-on experience with NYC DEP, wastewater systems, SWPPP, and combined sewer overflow (CSO) mitigation + Proficiency with InfoWorks ICM and EPA SWMM + Proven ability to coordinate technically and communicate clearly with clients and project partners Preferred Qualifications + EIT certification with plans to obtain PE licensure within one year + Experience with green infrastructure planning, design, and implementation + Demonstrated leadership or project management responsibilities Why Join Us + Hybrid work schedule: 3 days in-office / 2 days remote + Flexible start and end times to support work-life balance + A collaborative, growth-oriented culture with study groups for PE licensure + A growing NYC-based team with regular social events and industry involvement + Comprehensive benefits package, including: + 401(k) with immediate vesting and employer match + Support and reimbursement for PE licensure + Opportunities for advancement as the office continues to expand Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of New York, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr. Comprehensive benefits package offered by Boomi, including 401K matching with immediate vesting and PE licensure support. Company pays for 80% of most benefits and some 100% coverage.
