Job Title: Civil DesignerJob Description

The Civil Designer is responsible for developing code-compliant civil engineering design solutions for various facilities and infrastructure projects, including pavements, foundations, drainage systems, roadways, parking lots, and airfield surfaces. This role involves supporting planning, design, and construction efforts by producing specifications, cost estimates, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and Department of Defense (DoD) standards. The Civil Designer works closely with project managers, engineers, and multidisciplinary design teams to deliver safe, efficient, and constructible solutions for new construction, repair, and modification projects in highly regulated environments.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop civil engineering design solutions that comply with relevant codes and standards.Support planning, design, and construction efforts by producing specifications, cost estimates, and technical documentation.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and multidisciplinary design teams.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and DoD standards.Review plans and specifications for accuracy, constructability, and regulatory compliance.Produce sketches, layouts, and design inputs for construction drawings.Essential SkillsCivil engineering and civil design expertise.Strong knowledge of pavement systems, including concrete and asphalt.Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD.Ability to apply IBC, NFPA Life Safety Code, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), and applicable federal/state regulations.Experience in developing engineering specifications and cost estimates.Additional Skills & QualificationsUnderstanding of existing conditions analysis, including utilities, structures, and site constraints.Familiarity with airfield, roadway, and parking lot striping and layout standards.Experience supporting infrastructure inspections for pavements, structural pavements, and bridges.Ability to interpret historical project data and apply lessons learned.Work Environment

This role is based in a professional engineering office environment with collaboration across civil, structural, and architectural disciplines. It involves a combination of office-based design work and limited site visits as required. The work environment is structured and standards-driven, with clear quality and compliance expectations.

This is a Contract position based out of Oklahoma City, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.87/hr.
